APPLICATIONS · WATER SUPPLY
Pipe for water supply and reticulation
Pressure pipe for the networks that carry treated water from reservoirs to standpipes, homes and businesses.

OVERVIEW
What the job needs
A reticulation network is the web of pipes that distributes water from a reservoir or tower to every connection. It usually combines PVC mains along the streets with smaller polyethylene pipe for the connections to each stand.
Pipelink makes both in Gaborone: uPVC and mPVC pressure pipe from 50 to 500 mm, and HDPE pressure pipe from 20 to 110 mm in coils.
WHAT MATTERS WHEN CHOOSING
- Size the class for the worst caseChoose a class above the highest pressure any part of the network will see, including static head from the reservoir and surge. Low-lying areas usually see the highest static pressure.
- Diameter comes from demandPipe is sized by outside diameter. Larger mains lose less pressure to friction; your engineer sizes them from the flow the network has to deliver.
- Fewer joints on connectionsHDPE comes in coils, so long house and standpipe connections go in with few joints and follow the ground.
- Certified pipe for public workOur uPVC (SANS 966-1), mPVC (SANS 966-2) and certified HDPE range (SANS 4427-2) are SATAS-certified, and every certified length is batch-stamped.
AT A GLANCE
Typical pipe by part of the network
| PART OF THE SYSTEM | TYPICAL CHOICE | PIPELINK PRODUCT |
|---|---|---|
| Distribution mains along streets | uPVC or mPVC pressure pipe, sized by the engineer | uPVC pressure pipe |
| Branches and ring mains | uPVC or mPVC in smaller diameters | mPVC pressure pipe |
| House and standpipe connections | HDPE pressure pipe in coils | HDPE pressure pipe |
Typical choices only. The project specification and your engineer's design come first.

What pressure class do I need for a reticulation network?
It depends on the highest pressure any part of the network will see, including static head from the reservoir and surge. The engineer's design sets it; send us the design pressures and we'll check the class with you.
Is your pipe certified for tender work?
Our uPVC, mPVC, sewer pipe and certified HDPE range are SATAS-certified to their SANS standards, and our quality system is SABS ISO 9001:2015 certified. Ask us for certificate copies to include in your tender.
Do you deliver to site?
Yes. We deliver across Botswana. Tell us the site when you ask for a quote.
